CHENGDU, CHINA-Logistics firm Deppon Express Co. Ltd. has leased a 219,600-square-foot build-to-suit building here from AMB Property Corp. The property is near Chengdu Airport and the City Center.
Shanghai-based Deppon already leases similar facilities from AMB in Jiaxing and Ningbo, China. Deng Xiaobo, VP of Deppon, said the lease will help the company expand in the greater western China region.
AMB’s Asia portfolio totals about 17 million square feet of operating and development properties. A spokeswoman tells GlobeSt.com said AMB was recently successful in a similar fashion with a BTS for Kunshan II in the Kunshan Bonded Logistics Park. “We believe we are in a part of the cycle in China where vacancy is low and demand is high so we have the ability to get leases signed before buildings have even commenced construction,” the spokeswoman says.
