SAN FRANCISCO-MidPen Housing Corp. has started construction of a $48-million mixed-use apartment complex in South San Francisco. BAR is the designer of the 636 El Camino. The 106-unit affordable apartment community will feature 40 three-bedroom, 45 two-bedroom and 24 one-bedroom units and a 5,700-square-foot retail space.
