DETROIT-Colliers International has hired a four-person team from Grubb & Ellis, led by Randall Book, to run the company’s tenant representation for the Detroit area, including Ann Arbor, MI. The hires are just part of Colliers’ aggressive move to hire more people in the Midwest, says Tom Murray, managing director of the central United States for the company.
Book has joined Colliers as senior vice president. Also brought on was Patrich Jett, VP, and Suzanne George and Julie Gitary. A representative from Grubb & Ellis did not return a request for comment.
Murray says the team will improve the current tenant representation business in Detroit. “The city is an exciting market for Colliers,” he tells GlobeSt.com. “Given the reforms in the automotive industry, the Detroit economy is bouncing back in lockstep with the rest of the Midwest region.”
He says he sees the Midwest markets stabilizing in terms of recovery, necessitating the adding of prime employees. “We’re very interested in aggressively hiring talent, that’s going to be a big part of the future of Colliers,” Murray says.
