WASHINGTON, DC-Transwestern has filled the position of Mid-Atlantic regional president, tapping Eric Mockler for the role. He is replacing Tom Nordlinger, who retired from the company at the end of last year.
A twenty-year industry veteran, Mockler’s CV includes a stint at Cassidy Turley, where he was a senior managing director in New York leading the integrated asset and property management services in the Tri-state region. He has also worked at United Systems Integrators and at Cushman and Wakefield as a broker.
Mockler’s first day will be Wednesday. While he doesn’t have a specific mandate to do X or close Y percent in transactions, he tells GlobeSt.com that his overall focus will be on growth. "The Mid-Atlantic market is a gateway market that institutional and high net worth investors all want to be in. There is always opportunity for growth and expansion." The company will be looking to bring on new brokers, he says, as well as focus on retention. "There are initiatives underway to identify and attract A players on the broker side to expand our business," he says.
There are 85 brokers in Transwestern's Mid-Atlantic unit. Last year the group closed on approximately six million square feet of leasing transactions in the office, industrial and retail asset classes and completed more than $500 million worth of sales and financing transactions.
