SAN DIEGO-The Rockpoint Group, an international real estate investment firm, has purchased the W hotel, 258-room property in the western part of downtown, from Sunstone Hotel Investors Inc. for an amount of $56 million. The company recently partnered with Clearview Hotel Capital of Newport Beach to acquire two Old Town hotels.
