NEW DELHI, INDIA-Locally based JHM Interstate Hotels India, a joint venture of Arlington, VA-based Interstate Hotels and Resorts Inc. and Greenville, SC-based JHM Hotels Inc., has opened and is managing two of its new hotels in India. The two Four Points by Sheraton properties are located in the cities of Pune and Visakhapatnam.
The Four Points in Pune is owned by Duet India Hotels Private Ltd., a subsidiary of UK-based Duet Hotels, which is dedicated to hotel and investment in India. The new 217-unit property includes 48 apartments, two restaurants and 10,500 square feet of meeting space. Both Interstate and JHM have an equity interest in Duet.
The 123-room Visakhapatnam property is owned by Vishnupriya Hotels and Resorts Private Ltd., a local development company. The hotel also features two restaurants and 6,200 square feet of meeting space.
Thomas Hewitt, chairman and CEO of Interstate, said the venture has developed a robust pipeline of third-party management opportunities in India. “The opening of these two properties represents our second and third properties under management since we formed our joint venture,” he said in a statement. The venture also operates Four Points by Sheraton Jaipur, City Square in Rajasthan, India.
