COTO DE CAZA, CA-The Barnes Family, Cohen Financial, Colliers International and the Flisher Family will sponsor a golf tournament here on Thursday, June 2 called The Bruce Krall Memorial Open Golf Tournament, which will support a college fund for the sons of Bruce Krall, a Cohen Financial managing director who died in a March 16 plane crash. The tournament is scheduled for 12:30 pm at the Coto de Caza Golf and Racquet Club, with the sponsors hosting cocktails and a dinner celebration immediately following the tournament at 5:30 pm.

Krall, 51, was a commercial mortgage broker for over 25 years. His sons are Lucas and Logan, ages 10 and 8, respectively. The sponsors have created a web site, for those who would like to donate to the college fund and/or to sponsor the tournament. All donations are tax deductible and will be deposited directly into a 529 (c) college fund for Lucas and Logan.

Kevin Barnes, a close friend of Krall and founder, with his wife Annie, of Faithfully Yours Foundation, said of Krall: "Bruce has inspired so many of us. His friendship has made me a better person, a better husband and father. He has touched all of us in such a profound way, and we are proud to honor his memory and his wife Elisa and their two sons, Lucas and Logan, with this tournament and celebration.”

Jack Cohen, CEO of Cohen Financial, said of the upcoming event: “The Bruce Krall Memorial Golf Tournament is an exciting way for us to help Bruce’s family, and we sincerely appreciate the overwhelming support of his friends and members of the commercial real estate professional community. Golf was one of the many things Bruce loved to do with his sons, and Coto de Caza is one of his favorite courses, so it’s fitting that we celebrate his life here."

An announcement from Cohen Financial regarding a memorial for Krall shortly after his death remembered him as "a devoted and loving husband and father, an active and effective community leader, who was recognized by his peers and clients as a true professional in the mortgage banking community." Said the Cohen announcement, "The loss of his warm handshake, sincere smile and optimistic outlook will be felt by many."
