WASHINGTON, DC-The local office of CB Richard Ellis is reshuffling its executive management, bringing one industry veteran from Northern Virginia to Washington, DC and recruiting another ex-CBRE staffer away from Cassidy Turley. At the same time it is settling into new digs in suburban Maryland and Virginia.

Brad Flickinger will take over CBRE’s Washington, DC office. Prior to this Flickinger had been overseeing the firm’s Northern Virginia and suburban Maryland operations and will continue to head the suburban Maryland office.

For Northern Virginia, CBRE has tapped Christopher Soucie to be its managing director. Soucie is joining CBRE from Cassidy Turley where worked as a tenant rep. He moved to Cassidy Turley after a three-year stint at CB Richard Ellis. The impetus behind these moves, Flickinger tells GlobeSt.com, was Ernie Jarvis’ departure for First Potomac Realty Trust earlier this year.

“That was the trigger. I will move into Ernie’s role and Chris will take mine,” he says. The firm also recently recruited Chip Olsen from its Atlanta office to run the Baltimore operations a few months ago, he adds. With that, “CBRE has its brokerage management team in place for the local region,” Flickinger says.

The company is also relocating its Northern Virginia and suburban Maryland offices. It has taken approximately 30,000-square feet at 1861 International Dr. in McLean. In Maryland, the firm has taken about 7,400-square feet space at 7501 Wisconsin Ave. in Bethesda.

The move, which happened last month, was prompted by lease expirations in both the Virginia and Bethesda locations. CBRE was represented by its own brokers in the lease negotiations, Flickinger said--and the owners of the buildings were represented by CBRE brokers as well.

For the International Drive transaction, Cathy Delcoco and Henry Chapman represented CBRE while the landlord, Macerich and Alaska Permanent Fund, was represented by CBRE’s Jeff Roman and Bill Kamp. In the Wisconsin Avenue transaction, CBRE’s David Machlin and Larry Thau represented B.F. Saul Co., while Mike Gillman and Kathy Keller represented CBRE as the tenant.
