CHICAGO-The University of Chicago has purchased the old Borders Books & Music building, 1539 E. 53rd St., in Hyde Park. The two-floor building measuring 24,074 square feet was sold by Roy Gottlieb of Northbrook-based Roy D. Gottlieb & Associates.

The university has employed Chicago-based McCaffery Interests to find tenants for the building. The U of C is looking for retail, entertainment, restaurant or home goods tenant. Roy Gottlieb purchased the property for $7.6 million in 2006. For the full story, go to Crain's Chicago Business .
