WASHINGTON, DC-SunCal Cos., a land developer based in Irvine, California, is making new deals again. The developer has recently acquired Harbor Station, a residential project running 1,920 acres near Washington, DC, for approximately $55 million.

The project is zoned for 4,000 residential homes. SunCal has plans to complete the project and market lots to residential builders as early as 2012. The company has marketed tens of thousands of acreage during the boom and currently it is buying modest parcels in housing markets. For the full story, go to Wall Street Journal .
