NEW YORK CITY-Ipsos North America has taken 38,776 square feet at the Time-Life Building, located at 1271 Avenue of the Americas. The market research firm now occupies the entire 15th floor.

The move involves a consolidation of two different Manhattan offices. Employees at 1700 Broadway will be joined by some of the company’s employees from an office on Seventh Avenue in Chelsea.

Ipsos was represented by managing director Deborah van der Heyden and associate director Kenia Fuertes from the New York office of Jones Lang LaSalle. Executive managing director Howard Nottingham and associate Ryan McKinney at Studley repped Time Inc.

Like many companies seeking new office space, Ipsos was apparently looking for an open, collaborative environment. “The move to 1271 Avenue of the Americas created greater efficiency and collaboration for Ipsos among its internal business units by putting all the firm’s employees in this office on one floor,” van der Heyden said in a prepared statement.

As for Time Inc., a company spokeswoman confirmed to GlobeSt.com that Ipsos had taken the space. She didn’t know of the circumstances surrounding the sublease but said that it wasn’t the result of any downsizing. “We’re holding steady,” she said.

Jim Smith, chairman and CEO for Ipsos in the Americas indicated that the collaborative environment the space would provide, along with the cache of a Rockefeller Center address, were both positives.

“This is a location that will let our clients know that Ipsos is a growing and dynamic company and an important partner in the success of their brands,” Smith said. “Ipsos is continuing to grow and the move to the Time-Life Building is representative of that growth.”
