EVENT OVERVIEW:
The 2011 TENTH Annual Real Estate GALA will be held on November 3, 2011 at the Four Seasons Hotel. This event will be a special celebration honoring the accomplishments of the first decade of the Chicago School of Real Estate at Roosevelt University. Each year the GALA is the premier real estate networking event of the year in Chicago with over 400 leaders in attendance. The GALA is critical to the work of both the School and the Marshall Bennett Institute of Real Estate which provides scholarships, industry events, faculty support, and the Urban Retail Professional Development and Research Center in support of the program. The GALA provides over half of the Institute's annual operating budget as well as support for named scholarships.
**HONOREE**
This year's Lifetime Industry Leadership Award will go to James P. Grusecki, Chairman/CEO, Northern Builders, Inc. Jim has been a leader in the development and construction industry for over 40 years. He has served on the Advisory Board of the Institute since its beginning and this past year he and his wife Brenda funded the Northern Builders Future Industrial Leaders Scholarship to support our students - a portion of the Gala program tributes and honorariums will go to expanding that scholarship program.
**SPEAKER**
The Keynote Speaker will be Neil G. Bluhm, founder and President of JMB Realty Corp., and founder and Marketing Principal in Walton Street Capital, LLC. Neil is a national leader in real estate investment and development. Through an affiliate family partnership, he is also in the business of developing and operating casinos, including then new casino opening this year in Des Plaines, IL. He serves on numerous boards including Northwestern University, The Art Institute of Chicago, and the Whitney Museum of American Art.
