NEW YORK CITY-Resale of homes in the US increased in August but stayed weak overall as the stumbling housing market fails to move the economy. The National Association of Realtors report revealed that existing-home sales rose 7.7% from a month earlier.
Two other reports said that the housing market is declining. The Realtors' report said that home sales were up 2.7% in the Northeast, 3.8% in the Midwest, 5.4% in the South and 18.3% in the West. For the full story, go to Wall Street Journal .
