HONOLULU-Hilton has received approval for special management and proposed development-resort consents for its $760-million expansion project. The Honolulu City Council has approved the enlargement of the Hilton Hawaiian Village Beach Resort & Spa situated in Waikiki.

The Honolulu Star-Advertiser reported that the council accepted the permits over disapproval from a family that holds a portion of the tract under the property's Diamond Head Tower.
