DALLAS-Real estate veteran David Quisenberry has joined Colliers International as executive vice president of agency leasing for North Texas. As part of his job, Quisenberry will launch the local branch’s agency leasing platform, which will cover the North Texas region.
Quisenberry tells GlobeSt.com that one of his goals is to “place a big flag on signature properties throughout the area to tell owners there is an alternative to what they’ve had in the past.” Quisenberry is unabashedly aiming big and is targeting ownerships of significant size assets. “The smallest building I’ve worked in the past was 300,000 square feet, and the largest 1.6 million square feet,” he explains. “I’m used to that level of ownership.” His second goal, he notes, is to build a team of seasoned and aggressive professionals dedicated to agency representation.
“If you look at the major food groups of real estate, you have the buy-sell side, tenant rep, investment sales and property management,” Quisenberry says. “Agency leasing is really a way to establish branding as much as anything for the local community, as well as establishing it on a national and international level.” It’s also a way to provide more significant owner representation, as well as offering owners more services, he adds.
Quisenberry’s start date is ostensibly in January, but he’s already in the saddle, interviewing prospective job candidates and meeting with owners and lenders. He most recently operated his own company that was focused on office tenant representation, and also formulated a management company for developers building multifamily properties. During his 30 years in the business, Quisenberry also served stints with Hines (as senior director focused on office building, land acquisition, build-to-suit and leasing services) and Lincoln Property Co. During his 27-year career with Lincoln, Quisenberry handled all areas of office leasing and development, as well as construction and marketing strategies.
He acknowledges he had first been approached to work with Collers about a year and a half ago, but initial conversations didn’t lead to much. Discussions ramped up once again in recent months. Quisenberry, in fact, was talking to a couple of other companies as well.
“I think the platform and commitment to resources showed me they were serious about the development,” says Quizenberry, explaining why he decided to join Colliers. “I felt there was a clearner platform from which to start.”
