MINNEAPOLIS-Ryan Cos. US Inc. of Minneapolis and its investment partners have started construction on a mixed-use project, called 222 Hennepin, in downtown Minneapolis. The 580,000-square-foot project will comprise 286 apartments and a retail space on the ground floor.

Whole Foods Market will open a 38,000-square-foot grocery store in the development. Wells Fargo Bank is providing construction loan. Ryan's investment partners in the project include The Excelsior Group and an unidentified institutional client of Invesco Real Estate.
