
COLLEGE PARK, MD-The University of Maryland is looking forward to start construction next year on the institution's East Campus redevelopment. The 38-acre project, which was delayed due to the recession, is expected to cost almost $900 million.
The university has picked up Baltimore-based Cordish Cos. as the master developer. It is collaborating with David Hillman of Vienna's Southern Management Corp. to develop a 266-room hotel and retail.
