
LONGBOAT KEY, FL-Publix Supermarkets has acquired a property in Longboat Key for $2.35 million with plans to demolish the old store and construct a larger prototype there. The deal included the older store, approximately 4 acres and an 11,200-square-foot retail center around the store at 594 Bay Isles Parkway.
Publix purchased the shopping center from Sarasota real estate investor W. Howard Rooks for $1.25 million and the land from a New Jersey-based company for $1.1 million. For the full story, go to Tampa Bay Business Journal .
