ALEXANDRIA, VA-The Washington Post reported that the Alexandria City Council has granted approval for a proposal to redevelop the city's Beauregard area. As per the approval, the five developers, owners of 5,000 apartments units in the region, are allowed to raze down half of the units and redevelop more expansive apartments.
The city agreed a pact that will offer 800 affordable units for the next four decades in place of a development for an additional space of 2.4 million square feet. For the full story, go to Washington Business Journal .
