FORT MYER, FL-Clearwater-based Liberty Group of Companies has purchased an 80-room hotel in Fort Myers from a senior lender. The Candlewood Suites hotel, completed in 2008, was recently foreclosed by the senior lender.
Liberty bought the hotel from the lender at a discount in an all-cash transaction. The Candlewood Suites hotel deal is the 17th acquisition for Liberty since 2010. In February, the company acquired a Comfort Inn hotel in Plant City and Comfort Suites hotel in Clearwater. For the full story, go to Tampa Bay Business Journal .
