LONDON-The London Borough of Croydon Council's planning committee has given approval for Hammerson's redevelopment scheme for Centrale Shopping Centre. The GBP 50-million project will modify 141,814 square feet of the internal retail space as well as develop a family-friendly leisure quarter.

Hammerson has already pre-leased the extension to National Amusements. In addition, the project will also provide eight new restaurants and two flagship retail units. Construction is scheduled to begin in early 2013 and the project will open in autumn 2014. For the full story, go to Europe Real Estate .
