WASHINGTON, DC-Associated Estates Realty Corp. is planning to demolish the Bethesda post office in July to develop a $50-million apartment building. The new development, which will replace the post office, will be the first ground-up project in the Washington area for Associated Estates Realty.

The company bought the post office, located at 7001 Arlington Road, for $12.2 million on May 11. The proposed plans call for a four-story, 140-unit building, which will take nearly 18 months to get completed. For the full story, go to Washington Business Journal .
