SILVER SPRING, MD-Bethesda-based Washington Property Company has started construction on a 232-unit apartment complex in Wheaton. Solaire-Wheaton is situated near the Wheaton Metro station and is expected to be delivered in fall 2013.

The project, originally planned in 2006, was put on hold due to recession. It is being constructed on the site of an old First Baptist Church. The general contractor of the project is Clark Builders Group. Last month, Washington Property completed the 295-unit Solaire-Silver Spring beside the Silver Spring Metro station.
