HOUSTON-The Finger Cos. has bought the old Art Institute building in Houston's Galleria area with plans to build a mid-rise apartment complex there. CultureMap reported that the Houston-based company, led by Marvy Finger, purchased the six-story, 94,000-square-foot office building at 1900 Yorktown.

The Art Institute of Houston vacated the building last year. According to Houston Chronicle, Holliday Fenoglio Fowler LP reported the sale on July 9. Besides the Yorktown project, Finger Co. is also preparing for a multifamily project at 2900 W. Dallas. For the full story, go to Houston Business Journal .
