SMYRNA, TN-Summit Hotel Properties Inc. has bought Hampton Inn & Suites, an 83-room hotel in Smyrna, Tennessee. The Sioux Falls, South Dakota-based real estate investment trust paid $8 million for the Smyrna hotel.

The hotel, located at 2573 Highwood Blvd., was sold by Knoxville-based Kana Hotel Group. Summit is planning to spend approximately $500,000 to upgrade the hotel. The REIT owns 73 inns in 20 states. For the full story, go to Nashville Business Journal .
