CHICAGO-Newcastle Ltd., a real estate firm based in Chicago, has acquired two courtyard apartment buildings in Chicago's North Side. The firm purchased the buildings at 718 and 725 W. Irving Park Road for $16.5 million from ventures led by Joseph Farago, a Chicago investor.

The two West Irving Park Road apartment buildings contain 115 units. Newcastle acquired the debt on the apartment buildings, two loans that had a $9-million balance when they were issued in 2005 by Guardian Life Insurance Co. of America. For the full story, go to Crain's Chicago Business .
