NEW YORK CITY-Gifford Miller's Signature Urban Properties is betting that the industrial lots along West Farms Road, rezoned for residential use, can be converted into what Ruben Diaz Jr., the Bronx borough president, calls "a small city". The proposed project will comprise 1,325 housing units and 46,000 square feet of retail space.
The project received a $1.2-million capital financing from the office of Diaz and another $1.3 million from City Councilman Joel Rivera. Signature will use the money to construct the first two buildings. For the full story, go to New York Times .
