BALTIMORE-Whole Foods Market is planning to open a store measuring 45,000 square feet in the former headquarters of Rouse Co. in downtown Columbia. The natural and organic food retailer will open the store by late summer or early fall in 2014.

The 151,000-square-foot building is owned and occupied by The Howard Hughes Corp. Architect Frank Gehry designed the four-story building for James W. Rouse.
