MIAMI—Richard Bamonte and Janette Driggers are the newest members of the CBRE family. Bamonte joins the Miami office as first vice president while Driggers takes on a senior associate role. Both will focus on landlord representation in the South Florida market.
“Part of our strategic plan was to grow our institutional agency ownership representation services, specifically in Miami,” Ken Krasnow, managing director for CBRE’s South Florida offices, tells GlobeSt.com. “Rich and Janette are very well entrenched in Miami and in the Airport West submarket. That’s a submarket where we want to have a significant presence in Miami-Dade.”
Driggers comes to CBRE from Cushman & Wakefield’s Corporate Occupier & Investor Services group. Her expertise includes commercial market analysis, accounting, and property management. She has represented landlords in more than 320 transactions with national and local tenants totaling more than 1.1 million square feet.
Bamonte has been active in the South Florida real estate community since 1980, representing landlords and tenants in more than 500 transactions totaling more than 3 million square feet. His clients include Hines, Equitable Life, Tishman Speyer, and USAA. Cushman & Wakefield could not immediately be reached for comment on the departure of Driggers and Bamonte.
Driggers and Bamonte were most recently responsible for the marketing and leasing of Airport Corporate Center and Doral Corporate Center on behalf of Hines REIT and Hines Value Add Fund, respectively. Airport Corporate Center features more than 1 million square feet of office, office/showroom and warehouse space. Doral Corporate enter is a two-building complex with about 275,000 square feet of class A office space.
“Overall, Miami is definitely performing well but obviously there’s room for improvement,” Krasnow says. “Our vacancy is still in the 20 percent range. There are pockets of strength and then there’s other markets where there’s a lot of musical chairs. We need continued job growth to see a broader recovery.”
