ORLANDO—University House student apartment community is officially open. Inland American Communities Group just opened the doors to the new student housing facility at 3200 North Alafaya Trail at the University of Central Florida—and it’s already 100 percent leased despite a competitive market.
J. Travis Roberts, president of Inland American tells GlobeSt.com the marketing and leasing effort for the student housing project was technologically advanced to turn student heads. Displays in the pre-leasing center, for example, featured cutting-edge digital renderings and animated fly-through videos in a “virtual tour” of the student housing facility even before construction was complete.
“The variety of floor plans featured upscale finishes and a designer furniture line, as well as a flat-screen TV in each apartment,” says Roberts, noting that some student housing units have a spiral staircase. “Beyond the design of the property, the University House management and events program follows the highest standards to ensure that the students will enjoy the best possible experience.”
The five-story student housing development has 416 units and 995 beds. It will house nearly 1,000 students off-campus. Residents will have admittance to controlled-access garage parking and the university and city shuttle systems. Other student housing amenities include a fitness center, a multimedia lounge, a swimming pool with cabanas, sport courts, a putting green, tanning beds, and more.
“Students are seeking environments that are designed for an optimal living experience that enhances their interest in making social connections,” Roberts says. “The latest technology is an expectation, and it is a constant challenge to meet the high standards as new trends develop.”
Inland American plans to expands its investment in student housing with new developments, including a project coming to market next fall at California State University Fullerton. The firm also plans to acquire additional purpose-built premier student housing properties, located on or just off campus, at leading universities.
