AUSTIN, TX-American Campus Communities Inc. has bought The Block, a six-community property at 2501 Pearl St. in the West Campus neighborhood, for an undisclosed price. The student housing community, situated near the campus of the University of Texas at Austin, comprises 1,555 beds.
The Block, completed five years ago, is currently 97% occupied. Its amenities include a rooftop lounge, a fitness center and parking garages. Austin-based ACC is currently developing the Callaway House in the West Campus area at 505 W. 22nd St. For the full story, go to Austin Business Journal .
