DALLAS-Southwest Airlines Co. has started construction on its $100-million expansion in Dallas. The Dallas-based company is planning to extend its headquarters by adding a 492,000-square-foot building to the corporate campus, named Headquarters West, near Love Field.

The headquarters expansion includes a 392,000-square-foot facility for office and training purpose and a 100,000-square-foot building for handling operations. BOKA Powell was the architect of the project. The general contractor is Manhattan Construction. The project is expected to be completed in late 2013.
