WASHINGTON, DC-The JBG Cos., functioning as 13th and U Lessee LLC, has filed a petition with the DC Zoning Commission to convert the underutilized retail strip center on the U Street corridor into a mixed-use building.

The company has proposed to raze down the one-story Rite-Aid structure to make way for the eight-story building with 134 to 138 residential units, 15,270 square feet of retail space and 48 underground parking spaces.
