MINNEAPOLIS-AFC Enterprises Inc., the operator of Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen restaurants, is buying 28 restaurants in Minnesota and California for $13.8 million. The Atlanta-based company will buy the locations from another quick service eatery concept and will spend $11.5 million to convert them into Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen restaurants.

Following the conversion, the eateries will be leased to franchisees of Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen restaurants. AFC did not reveal the name of the seller. Popeyes has a restaurant in Uptown in Minneapolis. For the full story, go to Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal .
