ALAMEDA, CA-Target has purchased 10 acres of land in Alameda with plans to build a new store there. The new Target store totaling 140,000 square feet will be the anchor of Alameda Landing, a 291,000-square-foot retail center. The acquisition price was not disclosed.

The new store will be situated near the corner of 5th Street and Willie Stargell Avenue. It is expected to be opened in fall 2013. The retailer plans to employ nearly 200 people at the new store. Terranomics brokered the deal. For the full story, go to Oakland Tribune .
