SEASIDE HEIGHTS, NJ-Although Atlantic and Cape May counties in New Jersey did not suffer tremendous damage from Hurricane Sandy, landlords there wonder if renters will stay away this coming summer.

According to a report in The Philadelphia Inquirer, because the images of entire blocks of homes and businesses that were destroyed in Ocean and Monmouth counties were so widely circulated, landlords along the entire Jersey Shore are now questioning how strong the rental business will be later this year.

“This is a very critical moment for us in the vacation rental market," says Diane F. Wieland, director of the Cape May County Department of Tourism in the published report. "They may not be ready to sign on the dotted line right now, but they are formulating their plans. If we lose the tourists now, they could be gone for good. “ See story in The Philadelphia Inquirer.
