FRISCO, TX-Silver Oak Multifamily Capital LLC has begun building phase one of The Emerson at Frisco Market Center. The high-end multifamily project is going north at the 80-acre Frisco Market Center, a master-planned development at Main Street and the Dallas North Tollway.

Both phases of the project will total 750 units; phase one consists of 410 units. Construction on the second phase will commence once phase one is leased and stabilized. Leasing on the first phase is scheduled to commence during spring 2014. Westwood Residential is the general consultant and general contactor.

According to a press release from Silver Oak, The Emerson is designed following principal of the "new urbanism," in other words, it's being built in an environment conducive to live/work/play activities.  The development will consist of one four-story building that will "wrap" around a five-story parking garage, allowing residents direct access to their units. Approximately 70% of the units will offer one bedrooms, with the remainder consisting of two-bedroom units.

Other activity within Frisco Market Center includes Hermansen Land Development Inc.'s two retail strip shopping centers offering a total of 15,000 square feet. Signed tenants include Pei Wei Asian Diner, Pie Five Pizza, Firebirds World Burrito, Ideal Dental and Mooyah Burger. Completion of the shopping centers is scheduled for March, 2013. Additional retail, medical office and hotel development is planned for Frisco Market Center in 2013.
