BETHESDA, MD-Lockheed Martin intends to cut about 50 jobs from its corporate staff.
Marilyn A. Hewson, who took over as CEO of the Bethesda-based firm on Jan. 1, sent a memo to employees saying she is consolidating several corporate functions “to improve collaboration and coordination across the enterprise, increase efficiency, and achieve greater synergy,” according to a report in the Washington Post.
A company spokesman said the program would affect about 50 jobs.
The global security and aerospace company employs about 120,000 people worldwide and is principally engaged in the research, design, development, manufacture, integration and sustainment of advanced technology systems, products and services.
