KATY, TX-Construction has been launched on a 420,000-square-foot, build-to-suit distribution center for Igloo Products Corp. in West Ten Business Park. Panattoni Development Co. is developing the $19 million center, which it will lease to the outdoor cooling product company upon completion.

The distribution center, in its suburban Houston location near Interstate 10 and SH 90, has the added advantage in that it's approximately two miles away from Igloo's headquarters and can be expanded to 535,000 square feet. According to information from the Katy Economic Development Corp., Igloo will move its distribution center to the new facility, which will free space at its current facility for more manufacturing and production.

Igloo was represented in the transaction by Bob Hutson of Symmedian Technologies and John Nicholson of Transwestern. The general contractor is Evans General Contractors and the architect is Randall-Paulson Architects Inc.
