HOUSTON-Hines, owner of the one-million-square-foot BP Group Place, has struck a deal with law firm BakerHostetler for 75,737 square feet. Beginning in Q3 2013, the law firm will move into its new digs, specifically, floors 11 through 13, in the 46-story, class A office building.

BakerHostetler currently offices out of space at 1000 Louisiana St., and the move to BP Group Place, at 811 Main St., is just a few minutes away. Along with the new CBD office space comes a 10,000-square-foot rooftop deck for events and firm functions.

BakerHostetler was represented in lease negotiations by Mark O'Donnell, Derrell Curry and David Endelman of Studley. Chrissy Wilson, Allison Knight and Tyler Garrett provided in-house representation for Hines, which developed the building, and continues to own and manage it. With the lease, BP Group Place, completed in 2011, is 92% committed.

"We could not be more pleased with BakerHostetler choosing BG Group Place for their new home," comments Hines senior managing director John Mooz in a press release. "They are an outstanding addition to an already world-class tenant roster."

"Favorable market conditions, coupled with the planned implementation of modern office standards, allowed the firm to achieve substantial savings in occupancy costs," adds O'Donnell, a member of Studley's Law Firm Practice Group, in the same press release.
