LEANDER, TX-H-E-B Grocery Co. is dropping plans to build a supermarket near the intersection of Ronald Reagan Boulevard and FM 2243.
A planned public hearing on a rezoning request for land has been canceled after some residents expressed concerns about flooding and environmental damage from the proposed construction, the Austin American-Statesman reports.
“After much review, this land does not meet all of our planning needs and expectations for a future H-E-B store,” company spokeswoman Leslie Sweet wrote in an email to nearby residents. “We remain interested in growing with Leander and we will continue to pursue other options for H-E-B's future growth.”
