NEW YORK CITY-GFI Capital Resources Group's property management arm has brought in Jeffrey Adler as president, the company said Thursday. Adler is now responsible for the company's portfolio of 16,000 apartment units—8,800 of which it owns—located throughout New York and six other states.
Adler served as COO at Denver-based apartment REIT AIMCO between 2002 and 2009. Since then, he was president of the Sanctuary Group, a management consulting firm to the rental housing industry.
In a statement, GFI Capital CEO Allen Gross says Adler's “results-oriented approach and ability to think strategically will play a critical role in helping us grow profitability as we continue to expand our portfolio throughout the country. Jeff will play an integral part in the future success of our business.”
The hiring of Adler follows last week's announcement that GFI Capital had brought in Jennifer McLean as CFO. She brings 26 years' experience in property management, construction and development, and will have direct oversight responsibility for the financial operations of the company and its related affiliates.
Before GFI, McLean served as CFO for Pennrose Management Co., an owner/property management firm; Diversified Property Services, a construction management firm; and Etkin Equities, a development and property management firm.
