WASHINGTON, DC-Cassidy Turley has tapped John Benziger as regional managing principal in the DC metro region. Benziger is taking over the role held by Joseph Stettinius, who was named Cassidy Turley CEO in October 2012 and, while president of the firm from 2008 to 2012, also led the DC metro region.

Benziger will be leading the more than 400 professionals in Cassidy Turley's local offices of Washington, DC, Tysons Corner, VA and Bethesda, MD. Benziger was most recently at Lincoln Property Co.—however, he has spent a good portion of his career at Cassidy Turley. From 1984 to 2002, he was the top broker with Cassidy & Pinkard, a Cassidy Turley predecessor firm. Benziger was SVP at Lincoln Property and managed the company's DC leasing efforts.

Separately, Cassidy Turley announced it has promoted Jarred Testa to the position of SVP/principal. Testa leads the company's Baltimore-based institutional industrial brokerage team.

These announcements follow a flurry of executive changes both at Cassidy Turley and other DC area commercial real estate firms. Also of note at Cassidy, Michael Kamm, up until now head of Northern California operations for the company, was recently named president. He will also join the firm's board of directors.

Cassidy Turley also recently merged with a Tampa, FL-based company, CLW Real Estate Services Group. The combined firm will represent a major advance for Cassidy Turley in several markets, starting with CLW's home base of Tampa and the state of Florida, Cassidy Turley CEO Joe Stettinius told GlobeSt.com earlier this month. In addition, some 50% of CLW's activity is outside of Florida, giving Cassidy Turley valuable exposure to such markets as Boston, New York and Southern California.
