PHILADELPHIA-Community Legal Services, a non-profit law firm that provides legal assistance to the poor, is moving into its new North Philadelphia offices this month.

With financial assistance from the State of Pennsylvania, the City of Philadelphia, lenders and donors, CLS built a new $8.5-million building at 1410 W. Erie Ave. The 18,500-sf building was constructed on what was a vacant lot, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer.

"It's important that we remain present in this neighborhood, the home of so many low-income and vulnerable Philadelphians who are the focus of our work," says CLS executive director Catherine Carr said. See story in the Philadelphia Inquirer.
