NEW YORK CITY-The Alex Hotel has reportedly been acquired by an affiliate of Wyndham Hotel Group for $115 million. The sale of the 203-room midtown hotel, reported by the Real Deal, comes shortly after the $180-million sale of the Flatotel, first reported in Crain's New York Business on Friday, to Joseph Chetrit and David Bistricer.

Both the Alex and Flatotel were owned by a joint venture that included Rockpoint Group, Atlas Capital Group and the Procaccianti Group. The Alexico Group had previously owned the two hotels before facing foreclosure in 2010.

The new owner of the Flatotel at 135 W. 52nd St. plans to convert the 289-room hotel into high-end residential condos. See story in The Real Deal. The Crain's story on the Flatotel sale can be found here.
