HARRISBURG, PA-New Jersey-based Cushman & Wakefield, which bills itself as the world's largest privately held commercial real estate services firm, has opened an office here.
The company has existing regional bases in Philadelphia, Washington, D.C., Baltimore, Maryland and Virginia.
“We are delighted to continue the expansion of our services in the Mid-Atlantic,” said John Derham, C&W's market leader in Pennsylvania. He said Harrisburg's industrial market in particular is a strategic growth area for commercial real estate activity.
Clients in the region already include a wide variety of corporate users and institutional investor/ landlords, said Derham. The brokerage team of Gerry Blinebury, Leah Balerno, Patrick McBride, and Adam Campbell who are now based in Harrisburg currently represent more than 15 million square feet of property for sale and/or lease in Eastern Pennsylvania.
Also, Elaine Mottilla, who recently joined C&W, will manage a 675,000-square-foot office portfolio in the Harrisburg area, while continuing work on building its Corporate Occupier & Investor Services group in the market.
“We have been actively serving clients in the Central Pennsylvania market for a number of years from our Philadelphia base, however, a significant amount of recent growth has warranted the need for a full-time staff of professionals in Harrisburg,” said Blinebury, the senior director in the firm's industrial brokerage group in Central Pennsylvania.
The new office is focused on serving clients “from the heart of the I-81 corridor, which is the fastest growing market in the state,” Blinebury said.
