NEW YORK CITY-Syracuse University has signed a lease for 20,000 sf of space at 136 Madison Ave. here and will use the location as an academic facility.
Andrew Roos, a broker at Colliers International, says Syracuse University will occupy the entire second floor of the 17-story office building, according to Crain's New York Business. Roos and Michael Cohen, the tri-state president of Colliers, own 136 Madison Ave. and negotiated the deal. James Kuhn, president of Newmark Grubb Knight Frank, represented Syracuse University in the transaction.
The 150,000-sf building has secured several new tenants recently, which Roos attributes to increasing spillover from midtown south. “I don't think this was an area on anyone's radar a few years ago,” he says. See story in Crain's New York Business.
