BETHESDA, MD-Washington Property Co. has hired four new people—three of which are for new positions. The company has a full pipeline--more than $200 million worth of deals in various stages--and it needed the new manpower, Derek Hendon, president of the company tells GlobeSt.com. "We are fortunate to have a full pipeline, five years full, of development projects, which prompted the new hires."
The company hired Bruce McElvein as general counsel--which is not a new position for WPC. He was previously in private law practice in Washington, D.C., Los Angeles and Lexington, KY, and has served as an appointee in the administrations of Presidents George H.W. Bush and George W. Bush.
The new positions and the people who are filling them are:
- R. William Mitchell, who joined as construction manager. He oversees the procurement of construction, design and other services for WPC's multi-family development projects.
- Aretha Orton, property manager. She'll oversee management of the company's Rockville, MD and Alexandria, VA properties.
- Janel Kausner, financial analyst and development associate. She's responsible for supporting all phases of the company's development projects.
