NORTHVALE, NJ-A project to expand the existing ShopRite supermarket and add a new 24,500-square-foot freestanding building here could break ground in May.
Last week the Northvale Planning Board approved the project by Northvale Shopping Center Associates. The plan, which still must get the nod from the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection, calls for the addition of three restaurants and new entrances and exits to the site encircled by several properties on Livingston Street and Pegasus Avenue. The development project encompasses the Tect/Danzig site, which was deemed environmentally hazardous in the 1990s.
The plan also includes 590 additional parking spaces. If the DEP green lights the project by April, construction could begin in May. See story in The Record.
