MIAMI—Real estate developers Louis Birdman and Gregg Covin have chosen ONE Sotheby's International Realty to rep condo sales at One Thousand Museum in Miami. Pritzker Prize-winning architect Zaha Hadid is designing the project. ONE Sotheby's specializes in representing the top end of the market in South Florida.
Located at 1000 Biscayne Boulevard on land overlooking Museum Park and Biscayne Bay, One Thousand Museum will Hadid's first residential skyscraper in the Western Hemisphere. Rising to more than 60 stories, the entire building is made up of half- and full-floor residents, duplex townhomes, and a single duplex penthouse.
“With One Thousand Museum, the Miami skyline will rival that of New York City when it comes to architectural interest, world attention, and pricing,” said Mayi De La Vega, founder and CEO of ONE Sotheby's International Realty in South Florida. “We simply haven't yet had a residential tower designed by an architect of Hadid's caliber in Miami.”
One Thousand Museum is anticipated to shift the attention of luxury residential buyers away from South Beach and command prices per-square-foot in excess of anything ever seen on Miami's mainland. Museum Park (formerly known as Bicentennial Park), the future home of the Peréz Art Museum Miami and the Frost Museum of Science, is rapidly becoming one of Miami's most prestigious cultural destinations. The first images of Hadid's architectural design for One Thousand Museum are anticipated for release by the developers in late March.
